Tests and Examinations

When I was teaching in school, a man came to a parents’ meeting and complained about the extraordinary mount of testing we were doing. His words went right to the heart of the matter: “You’re like a gardener who constantly pulls his plants up by the roots to see if they’re growing.”
- John Holt

Good tests help students learn and measure their educational and intellectual progress.

About ESL Tests and Examinations

The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson. - Tom Bodett

A test or an examination is a good way to prove your ESL students' English language skills and capabilities and to open doors for them to many international opportunities. Whether they want to migrate to an English-speaking country or to study and get ready for their future professions, an internationally recognized test is vital in preparing them for this trip – a trip to the future. It is the ESL teacher’s task to advise students which test or examination to choose. Here are the most popular international tests and examinations for students and for teachers.

ESL Tests

TOEFL® iBT - Internet-based test (iBT).

It tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
